The winner at the Historic Wallace
Blues Festival was Joey Shalloe. He
was up near the Red Light Garage
when a friend let him know that his
name had been called as the guitar
winner, and that he had better get on
down there to claim that guitar. Joey
started running a bit and otherwise
hustling along the three blocks to the
main stage area where the guitar was
to be presented, making it there in less
than three minutes and before Ted
called out another name.
Carl Speer took Joey’s picture in front
of our Inland Empire Blues Society
booth, and soon afterward he donated
the guitar back to the Blues Society.
Thanks Joey, so very much!
Joey has worked professionally in the
music business for many years as a
highly skilled audio engineer, and
many of you may also remember him
as a talented vocalist with the band
Cool Stack. He has worked on the road
for many big name acts, and these
days he spends his time as Tour
Manager for Eddie Money.
