Bobbi Doupe’ and her son Robb Boatsman of The Rampage Band have recently donated a beautiful guitar to the Inland Empire Blues Society. The idea behind this is to promote membership in the Inland Empire Blues Society. First, let us tell you about the guitar. This wonderful acoustic/electric guitar is a Johnson JG-650-TN. The technical aspects are that it’s a Cutaway, with a Spruce top, Nato Back, Sides & Neck, with a Glossy Natural Finish; a Celtic Rosette; Rosewood Fretboard with Dot inlays and 20 Nickel Frets; Die-Cast Tuners; a Rosewood Bridge, Black Pickguard; a Truss Rod and Martin Strings; the Nut Width is 1 11/16”; Scale Length: 25 3/8”; 3” body Depth; 12” Upper Bout; 15.75” Lower Bout; 20” Body Length; 40.5” Total Length; and a Passive Pickup.

Also there will be framed autographs given away which will be those of performers at each monthly meeting as well as Bluz Cats for Kids and more.

Let me tell you how you might be the lucky recipient of this guitar and the autographs. There is a time frame involved, which started the night of the 2012 Empire Awards and ends the night of the 2013 Empire awards, when the guitar and autographs will be given away at the Annual Awards Ceremony. During this time frame, here’s what you have to do to qualify. Each new member and each renewing member of the Inland Empire Blues Society who either becomes a member or renews their membership will have a raffle ticket and their name entered into a drawing to be held at the 2013 Inland Empire Awards Ceremony. If you join or renew by mail, a ticket will be filled out in your name. Yes, you must renew or join to be in the drawing, and it is a wonderful thing; because in addition to all the regular perks for membership, this year we have this for all of you who qualify. You may be the lucky one going home from the Awards Ceremony next year with this beautiful guitar and so many autographs of our blues musicians. Good luck to all of you.
