Groups such as Crosswalk, which has received over $10,000 over the years, and Project Safe Place in Kootenai County, which has
received approximately $7500 in donations. Both Crosswalk and Project Safe Place are affiliated with the Volunteers of America. Lonnie
Keesee, the Crosswalk Program Director, wrote us and said: “I want to personally thank your organization for your generous support of
the Crosswalk Program. As you are aware, Crosswalk serves over a thousand youth who are dependent on the streets. We provide
overnight shelter, meals, case management, counseling, school, and connections to caring adults. In addition, we are always looking for
opportunities to provide opportunities for kids to develop interest and skills in music. We believe that music is a valuable tool in the
development of an adolescent. Your support helps us provide these services for these kids. We depend heavily on support from the
community and organizations like yours. If anyone in your organization ever have any questions about Crosswalk, or would like a tour,
please do not hesitate to call me.” 509.838.6596.
Doubling up on our opportunity to collect for non-profit organizations that offer help to those who need it, we are also asking that patrons
bring food to donate to The Second Harvest Food Bank. Always in need of food and cash donations, the Food Bank is a likely candidate
for our help. You know what is needed: canned goods, dry foods, peanut butter, pretty much anything that won’t spoil. Please give
generously. We’ll collect it at the event and deliver it to the food bank.
We will once again be at the Spokane Valley Eagles, (16801 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley), who have donated their facility to Blues
Cats for Kids since the second year of the fundraiser, and also donate cash to help the IEBS help area youth. You’ll want to get there early
for a good seat!
Doors open at noon on Saturday, March 6th. Entry is free, 21 & over only.
Besides hours and hours of great music and ample food and drink, you can also take advantage of the Blues Cats for Kids auction.
Members of the Eagles, attendees, and numerous other generous folk always come up with some great items for us to bid on.
In the past, a wide variety of items have been donated for the event, ranging from tools, sports equipment, musical instruments, blues
photographs, jewelry, office equipment, gift certificates, an outboard motor, home theater systems, automotive gear, festival tickets,
musician services, food, and much more!
The donations have come in from the Debbie Mumm Foundation, Customs by Jim, HeaterCraft, George Gee Pontiac/Hummer, Fannie’s,
Shumate Harley Davidson, Spokane Pulltab, Ringo’s Little Vegas, Bluz at the Bend, Yoke’s, and more. Straight up donations have come
from many individuals and organizations.
We’ll be happy to accept your donations, just contact Ted at 509.534.8185 or just bring your item to the event with you! (If you bring it to the
event with you, please have a card with your name and the value of the donated item with it.) We are in need of your donations!
Who knows what other cool stuff will be available to tempt us to open our pocketbooks?
Items will be auctioned between music sets, and we’ll take your personal check (if it’s good!), we like cash too, but we can’t take credit
cards. If you know you can’t make it to the event but wish to donate to this great cause, you can mail a donation to the Inland Empire Blues
Society at: PO Box 9126, Spokane, WA. 99209-9126. Just mark your check: Blues Cats For Kids on the memo line.
Once again this year, we’ll have the “Blues Cats For Kids” cd (a compilation of local blues artists recorded at previous BCFK events)

If you can’t stay all day - and night - stop by for a bit to get your mini-festival fix of great blues. And help local kids become blues musicians
instead of …….
So get rid of the winter blahs and hear some outstanding blues on Saturday, March 6th at the Valley Eagles on East Sprague.
If at anytime you feel the need to donate to a worthy cause, you don’t have to wait until the first Saturday in March. You can mail a donation

The 15th Annual Blues Cats For Kids
Saturday, March 6th
Spokane Valley Eagles
16801 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley
Last years’ 14th Annual Blues Cats For Kids was a blast, and we’ve been so
looking forward to this years’ event!
The purpose of this event is to raise money to donate to local non-profit
organizations that help children. 100% of this money goes to Blues Cats For
Kids for distribution to non-profit organizations. Every single person involved
with the production of BCFK is a volunteer! (And we are looking for a few more
volunteers to work the membership booth. Call Carl at 208.772.9401 or Ted at
509.534.8185).
