I don't usually review compilation releases like this, but I'm making an exception for this
exceptional two-cd release. This is just what you'd expect from something that says "…
Anniversary Collection," but this particular collection is incredible. The first cd is "In The Studio,"
which is some of the finest cuts from Alligator recording artists old to new like Shemekia
Copeland, Michael Burks, Rusty Zinn & Dave Hole to the more well known artists like Johnny
Winter, Koko Taylor, Carey Bell & Junior Wells. Plus many more. Cuts from these artists'
Alligator albums over the years, all great cuts.
The second cd is "On The Stage." Lonnie Brooks, Luther Allison, Albert Collins, James Cotton,
Hound Dog Taylor, and many more. I'm in heaven! CD two also has a bonus CDROM Video
Track of Hound Dog Taylor & the Houserockers "Taylor's Rock," which was previously
unreleased.
This two-cd set is a party waitin' to happen! Not just the finest from Alligator, but some of the
finest blues men & women ever, right there on your player.
This is one you can put in the player, crank it up, and party for well over two hours!
